Thomastown Neighbourhood House (TNH) is a welcoming community hub where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can connect, learn, and participate. We exist to strengthen community wellbeing by providing inclusive programs, meaningful opportunities, and safe spaces for connection.

In an increasingly busy and disconnected world, places that bring people together are more important than ever. Neighbourhood Houses like TNH provide vital community infrastructure, creating opportunities for people to build relationships, develop skills, share experiences, and contribute to the life of their community.
At TNH, we believe everyone has something valuable to contribute. Our role is to create welcoming spaces where people can belong, connect with others, participate in community life, and share their strengths.

Our Purpose
Thomastown Neighbourhood House is a Not-for-Profit organization which has the charitable purpose of advancing social and public welfare by:

Providing benevolence and relief to disadvantage families

Advancing mental health and preventing social isolation;

Providing a physical location where it supports individuals to undertake activities, or work on projects, in the company of others.

Our Team
Due to funding restraints, The TNH team is largely made up of volunteers. Our Community Coffee Cart is volunteer run by young adults with disabilities and we have a team of interns who are Batchelor of Community Services Students who volunteer as Community Activity Assistants.
On staff, we have a part time manager and a casual administrator as well as a few casual roles to facilitate the program.
Our TNH Board is made up of local community members who volunteer their time and bring warmth, expertise, and lived community experience to everything we do.
We work collaboratively with local partners, educators, and service providers to deliver programs that matter to our community.

TNH is a child-safe organisation. All children or young people who attend services, programs and events delivered by, and spaces managed by, TNH have the right to feel and be safe. We have zero tolerance of child abuse are committed to creating and maintaining a safe and empowering environment, where protecting children and preventing and responding to child abuse is embedded in our culture.
